Month Old Frequently Asked Questions
HOW CAN I GET MY FIFTEEN MONTH OLD TO EAT
BETTER?
Children at this age often
will go several days with only minimal, if any, intake of food. Somehow, they
still are able to grow and develop and remain healthy. Do not worry if your
child’s appetite decreases, but continue to offer good nutritionally sound
foods. Do not force the child to eat as this may lead to food aversions later on
in life. Do not make mealtimes a battleground, as you will lose this battle. Do
not substitute junk food just to get your child to
eat.
HOW DO I KNOW IF MY CHILD IS
ANEMIC?
A blood test for anemia is
often done at the 12 or 15 month health supervision visit which will enable the
health professional to diagnose whether your child does or does not have
anemia.
WHEN DO I BRING MY CHILD
BACK FOR HIS NEXT HEALTH SUPERVISION
VISIT?
At 18 months of age your
child should see a healthcare professional for his next health supervision
visit.
